    And what I think was probably the inspiration for the design. Although the Gobrecht dollar shown here was minted in 1836, the mint was making restrikes with the original dies into the 1850s.

    Okay, I know it's not a U.S. issued coin. But.....a series designed by former U.S. Mint Chief Engraver, John M. Mercanti. Up to date in all three finishes (Unc/PF/UHR) with exception of those extremely tough standard proofs from 2017 forward (I have the 2022 Proof). All in NGC/PCGS 70.

    The Wedge-Tailed Eagle series has some GREAT looking coins....1, 2, and 5 ounces.
