I can't find anything about this particularly coin ever being struck as a Fourre. Does anyone have any information on the subject?
Looks like you have pictures of at least one. Searching "lysimachos tetradrachm fourree" on ACSearch brings up a couple dozen specimens: acsearch.info - Auction research
so i don't know a lot about this particular coin, but i notice the legend on the back is unlike all the others i can find. any idea?
I have a fourre of a Lydian/Persian double siglos if that helps? For some reason I only have a photo of the obverse. The rev is a double punch & I recall there are no plating problems. These double-sigloi became prohibitively popular & expensive one day so a real specimen was out of the question. I think the mania has since abated somewhat?
