Once the process starts, it will take a couple of years to untangle. It has already been said (here in the UK) that it will take a considerable time for all the EU laws that will be enshrined, to be gone through individually and amended where appropriate. Don't hold your breath.

Ken, your point is well-taken, and I appreciate that you took the time to write it as it is clearly intended for my benefit. Thank you sir. However, dealing is just a hobby for me - I have a full-time profession at which I'm very successful. If I rub someone the wrong way with an occasional political opinion, so be it. If someone prefers not to buy my coins for my opinions, that's their choice. If someone were to stop being a customer because of my ethnicity or religious inclinations, I would be saddened not by the loss of a few dollars, but by their ignorance and stupidity. I'm sorry that that happened to you.

Ken Dorney Yea, I'm Cool That Way...

I am glad you took my comments in the way it was intended. It isnt easy being a full time dealer, though I have noticed most dealers simply dont communicate with the community at all. While I am a dealer I have the heart of a collector. Always will be. But, I have made many mistakes. Recently some will remember some comments I made. I used the word lackadaisical, was reported to moderators who really reamed me good. A few beers later and some dumb comments (Yea, @Bing warned me, I didnt listen), well I was nearly banned. It was never my intent to insult anyone (not in the beginning anyway), but it often comes across that way. I am no stranger to controversy. Alan Walker and I had a back and forth disagreement within the pages of The Celator many years ago. While nobody backed me publicly, they all did so in person.

Ah well. Just an opinion. I really appreciate your position. Keep the faith, friends! While we may be of different backgrounds economically, racially and otherwise, we are all collectors and have a deep appreciation for history.

Reasonable ship time on this one.
Today's mail included a package from Brussels. Auction date to arrival date was 19 days (9/10/16 to 9/29). That is not bad considering the charge on my credit card was dated 9/16.
I will post the coin when I have time to take pics. I must head to the salt mines now.

With the laws changing in Germany and other countries in Europe, I view it as an attempt to generate more tax revenue. It's going to have the effect of making coins and antiquities more expensive and cause some venues to go out of business because they can't afford the fees which may very well be high enough as it is. When you have the government and other companies nickel and diming your income, makes it a lot tougher to make it as a dealer and even as a collector as well.
