I recieved some quarters in the mail today...I dunno if I should mention this company's name or not but if you wanna know, I'll PM you. Anyways, these quarters don't look like premium BU coins as advertised. I am not happy with them but I don't really want to send them back since postage was $4.00 and that isn't refundable and there may be a restocking fee and I paid $15.00 or so for these coins. David
I would call or email the dealer and voice your opinion. Most dealers will stand behind their sale. If there is a restocking fee, that should have been mentioned up front. If this is an ANA dealer, you will have other options if you cannot receive proper treatment. Shipping is one of those things that we all have to deal with. I would not let a few dollars stand in the way of sending back subpar coins though.
Also these coins looked to be from bags or pocket change. I look at it as an experience and that is priceless. David
Finding a good dealer is often like finding good coins. The search can take some time, and be full of learning experiences. Once you find a good one all the bad dealers will be worth it. A dealer/customer relationship is built over time, and can be rewarding for both parties.
Here is one of my earliest threads concerning dealer relationships. http://cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=697
I couldn't agree more. Once you find a dealer that knows your likes and dislikes, and that you can trust implicitly, it will make the hobby even more enjoyable.
A dealer here in town told a mutual friend that he was going to give a few gifts to his regular customers and mentioned my name. The dealer's wife then said "Yea, but he's so picky about what he buys". I took it as a nice compliment. Now that's a dealer you can stick with.
As a dealer, I love the picky customer the best. While they may pass on all but the best coins, they are knowledgeable about their purchases, and rarely argue about paying good money for the best coin they receive.
