Is this a fake? How do I tell if it's counterfeit? If real...what's it worth?

My friend knows nothing about the coin, it was given to him initially by a friend of his. I believe it to be real solely based off the weight andjust how it feels. So, basically i have no idea if its real or not, but i was really surprised by its condition given the coins age. I would like to sell it if it is real and has any monetary value to it. I want to sell it before it becomes another one im too attached to to let go lol. So, fake coin or real? Also, what dollar amount would you be willing to spend to own it today? Would it be worth A few dollhairs or actual dollars to the average coin collector?

Appears to be real. Big chunk of silver. From eBay’s completed sales it seems $30–40. If you can get $25 cash locally, take it

 

Interestingly there are two varieties, one with the designer's name along the neck truncation - like yours, and another with the name near the rim.

Wait, I was wrong. The weight is 28.1g
But I tested it and it's real silver. Why would it weigh that much more?

 

To check your scale accuracy, use 5 US nickels. They weigh 5 grams each. Also see if there is magnetic attraction
