Going through 67 lbs of pennies a friend has been saving for ober 40 years and ran across this error. Can't find one like it anywhere. Relying on the experts here to "once again" bale me out with a good definition of this coin.
This certainly looks like something. A lamination (delamination) usually looks like a peel of metal that can still be attached or has been removed. And while the center of this thing has that look I'm not sure that's what it is. If it was a strike through, it's as if some piece of hardware got in there, which could prob damage the die. It doesn't look like any standard PMD although that's always possible. Ask for Paddyman, Insider, or JCro to look at it, (or any other experts) as they probably know what it is.
Once again appreciate the comments I get on this site. I'm relatively new to error coins but have been collection US coins on and off since I was 12 years old. I'm 78 now.... lol
