Not sure whether it is rare or not, but this gold coin might be of interest to somebody here: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/de...uhammad_khudayar_ah_1265/2048064/Default.aspx
It might be genuine and rare, but the listing says it is a denaro, it isn't though, it is a minca/folar:
This is interesting: https://coinsnb.bidinside.com/en/lot/18066/china-ancient-state-of-chu-warring-states-/?dobid=1
I have put in a pre-bid for the Chinese gold coin above, but I doubt I will win it, since it is likely that it will go for crazy money, and even if it doesn't, I suspect that it has a high reserve price... Do you plan to bid on it?
I have decided that I will seriously try to win it, because owning an ancient Chinese gold coin is in the top 5 of my wish list in regards to coins (the other 4 are an Aureus of Marcus Aurelius, Stater of Alexander the Great (lifetime issue), Mohur of Karim Khan Zand and Dinar of Chandragupta II).
Just got home from work. I am glad you won it! I knew you were bidding on it/ so I did not want to bid against you. Plus I have interest in Mùnzenonline auction end of April /St. Gallen 1773 AV Dukat. The famous Larry Adams Collection had one of those Warring States coins/ CNG auctions.
Thank you. I just barely won it, the other bidders had already bid me up to 4500 EUR during pre-bidding, and then when the the actual auction for it started they bid me up to 5850 EUR in a little over 5 seconds, I thought I was going to lose it (the maximum bid I had put in during pre-bidding was 5900 EUR), but then the fair warning countdown had started and when it showed zero, I had won the coin, those were probably the longest 3 seconds ever.

Panzerman, you shouldn't get overly excited about what I am about to suggest, since I still haven't contacted anyone about it and even if something does come out of it, it might not for months or even until next year, but I would like to know if you would be seriously interested in buying the Great Bosnian Ducat of Stjepan Tvrtko I (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces267065.html) ? I unfortunately am not rich enough to buy it (unless of course the owner gives me a really large discount or I decide to sell my apartment), but the other day I talked about investment opportunities with a person who is rich enough to buy it (unless of course the owner asks for a really crazy sum of money) and is a good negotiator, and I talked up gold coins as the best investment, so I am thinking about suggesting to him to ask the auctioneer who sold the coin in 1996 whether or not the owner is interested in selling it, and if the answer is affirmative and the price isn't really crazy, he would most likely agree to buy it, and I am 99% certain that he would prefer quickly flipping it over wasting time with auctions, so if he for example bought it for 80000 EUR or 100000 EUR, would you be willing to buy it for 150000 EUR or 200000 EUR? If I can't buy it, I would prefer it to end up in your hands, it mustn't be allowed to fall into the hands of some soulless American investor, or even worse, the Bosnian socialist government, so if you are prepared to pay really serious money for it and the person I know manages to acquire it, then I will mention to him that I already have a buyer for the coin lined up in Canada.

I have just put in a bid for this Assamese gold octagonal 1/8 mohur: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...18-mohur-nd-1751-69-rajesvara-simha-ngc-au-58
Thanks for letting me know! I will not be going for it/ Maybe another fractional one will appear soon.
You are welcome! Thank you, but I still think you should keep an eye on this one on auction day, because they have only given me a 1000 USD bid limit, so if you saw that the bid is over that, it would mean that the lead bidder is somebody other than me and that I wouldn't be able to outbid him/her, so if you see that happening on auction day, destroy them and buy the 1/8 Mohur for yourself. Before you mention it, I did ask for a bid limit increase, but I refuse to give them my personal identification documents and some of the information they asked for in the form they sent me.
I am home today/ snow storm! 20 cms+.....only in Canada! I have dealt with Stack's since 1983. Actually it was the first auction house that I dealt with. Second was Numismatic Fine Arts/ then Tkalec. I think I will save my $$$ for now.
Siberia would beg to differ! The coin I plan to buy today is the Bronze Mun of King Sejong the Great.
These two are rare: https://www.numismatik-naumann.at/auktion/#!/auction/lot?a=4400&l=923&p=10 https://www.numismatik-naumann.at/auktion/#!/auction/lot?a=4400&l=955&p=10
Without Sejong, there would not have been Hangul, or the tremendous leap in Science and Agriculture, not to mention defeat of the last of the Mongols, and Japanese pirates. Great choice.
