Just a farthing and a couple of halfpennies for me.

First up, a 1773 farthing with obverse 2.

    A 1773 with the first 7 over 1 and the 3 over a 7.
    upload_2024-3-21_23-12-32.jpeg

Lastly, a 1773 halfpenny on a spread flan.
    upload_2024-3-21_23-31-39.jpeg

Although the last item is interesting for the broad flan, of greater interest to me is the Basing House in ink on the reverse. Basing House was home to a Royalist supporter in the Civil War and after the successful 3rd siege, demolished in short order. This was considered a possible location for the 'B' marked coinage.

The upper case H of house is the point of interest, as it is in the very distinctive style of the 19th century collector, Henry Webb, or remarkably similar to it. The g of Basing also matches the g of grt on the 1874 ticket. Unfortunately I can't find any contemporary articles by him to provide circumstantial evidence for this theory, as I like provenances. See the tickets below for examples of his hand.

Actor David Garrick was at the height of his career when L. Pingo and J. Kirk each produced laudatory medals.

A couple of interesting GB pieces - a very nice Halfpenny, Regal issue, and an unusual evasion, dated 1771 but with George II's bust. (He died in 1760.)

Most of the 1770s I have are so similar to my previous posts to be worth sharing, but here is a decent GB threepence. (I have the fourpence and halfpenny, but they are no great shakes.)
