Hey folks! I haven't made a thread in about a week, so I wanted to showcase this 1881-S Morgan dollar that I got from one of the local coin shops yesterday. It is on the higher end of its grade, but who knows what that is? The following coin is PCGS certified, and is quite well-struck. If you need higher quality photos, I will be more than glad to post them, as on Saturdays, I typically have nothing to do but look through coins. Whatever you use to grade it, do not look up the certification number because it is really certified. This makes it even more fun to grade! Remember, the grading power is in your hands! I will respond to this thread either tomorrow or Monday. Here is the coin: +
Impossible to make an accurate guess based on those photos, but based on what little I can see I’d guess 64.
Well, most of you were right- it's a 63! Next time, I'll try to be more careful with the pictures. These were taken on my computer, and it's hard to do it correctly when you have to hold it in the air. My grade for it, though, would add an SPL designation to it (mainly used by ICG). Thanks for playing!
That sounds like a good plan. I wasn't quite sure that the grade showed right there, but sometimes it takes you by surprise. Thanks for the advice, though!
