I should piggy back older threads but I am too tired to look for them. I am seeing more and more China sellers plying their fake wares online. What bothers more than that are novices not realizing they are buying counterfeits, and to be honest, some of them are hard to detect if resold by private individuals. I am sure they are not aware they have been duped, and have no clue they are selling fakes. They are not easy to detect from sketchy photos, the sneaky fools are quite good at their trade. Chime in folks, take your shots Charley. :D

eBay should refuse to list anything coming from China. I will give them credit for noting it, but still. Etsy is an even bigger joke, those people are snorting AJAX. I don't even go to that site. When the public is afraid everything is subject to complete fraud (and not just innocent coin doctoring, lol) our community is in serious trouble. It pisses me off.

What's scary is I got most of my coin purchases off Ebay. Luckily none are Fake... or at least I don't think so...
    AJAX? More like this..... nx.gif

A couple of years ago I perused Etsy and their listed coins. It reminded me of the email scams where a Nigerian prince needed help bringing his fortune to the US if only they shared their bank account and social security number. :p

For an interesting advertisement, look at " www.made-in-china.com" and input "China coin press machines" and you can see how it would be interesting for
countries who can produce the dies and sell them off to non-experts in other countries.

This has been covered ad nauseam here. A long time ago there was an article showing a press producing morgans using real dies so yeah, it's buyer beware from here on out. There's somebody in China making fakes of everything to try to make a living.
Wouldn't surprise me if they're printing US $, meaning in cash as well. Their govt isn't going to prevent it and would probably encourage it. We can't do anything about it unless we're willing to go to war. If they can produce realistic $100 bills in the rain forests of South American countries in dimly lit bunkers you can bet there's probably a facility or two printing them in a lab in China. Collector coins is probably the least of our worries.

Just like some Politicians the Chrimeese has learned that any news is good news, so they keep the fakes coming!

A typical flea market "bargain" brought to you by China.

The thing is, they are producing them to make them look worn. A circulated Morgan doesn't look much, if any different than the photo on top. Without having it in hand and testing/weighing it, it's extremely hard to tell. I realize the subject has probably been beaten to death, but I've been seeing more and more of it lately, and they are actually moving them rapidly. It is sad and worrisome.
