You really don't get it do ya ? The very thing you are complaining about - people having opinions and ideas that are different than yours - is what you yourself are trying to deny those people - the right to THEIR own opinion and ideas. But when it comes to something like definitions, that's an entirely different matter. Definitions are not a matter of opinion, definitions are established, accepted, written down and explained so that anyone and everyone knows what the definition is for any given word or phrase. So for someone to come along and say - oh no, that definition's no good, that's not what it means at all - that is someone expressing an opinion about something that simply is not a matter of opinion at all. In other words you are trying to make something that is purely objective into something that is subjective - for your own personal reasons and means. And when you do that, you are proving that you yourself are textbook example of the very word you used to describe others ! Like I said - you really don't get it !
Great photo!!! Why can't I get shots like that?!? (That was rhetorical. I know there are a dozen threads on coin photography)
GD let me understand this or try to. Since you state I do not get it excuse me really do not get it. Now in order for me to get it I have to conform to what other people want. And I guess in order to comply I cannot disagree. As far as that definition I picked out of the blue, I mentioned it to a friend this morning at breakfast. And he stated you know that sounds exactly like you. And we both LOL. but GD there is one difference I don't push my opinions or experiences on anyone. Or tell other people this is the way it is and you're wrong.USMC60
What? You don't have to wield a moderator's power to "push your opinions and experiences" on others. You can do it by repeatedly posting them in threads where they're off-topic, or starting threads about them in forums where they're off-topic. Or do you think that someone repeatedly coming around your neighborhood and ringing doorbells to talk about [insert annoying cause or belief of your choice] isn't "pushing his opinions or experiences" on you?
Yes you do. All the time. Actually that's all you do in every thread that someone post an opinion that is different from your opinion. Everything you post is exactly what you complain about with others. I hope you can learn to see that.
No, absolutely not ! You are more than welcome to have your own opinions on anything, you are more than welcome to have your own definitions even. You can follow your own road that nobody else has ever walked down - heck you can create your own road if ya want ! But what do is tell everybody, constantly, how wrong they are ! About everything ! You even went so far once as to ask for us to allow you to stop anybody else from posting in threads you start if they disagreed with you ! And when you posted this - You could not have described yourself more perfectly if you had tried ! And your friend was right. He and I are in perfect agreement - on that anyway. And yet when you said that, you were talking about everybody else being that way. That's the part you don't get. And yet in your own words you said - "Control freaks rarely know that they are one." Well, guess what - you are one !
GD you're absolutely correct I agree with you 100%. I know very few people that do not control what goes on in their life. But as I have mentioned before I do not try to control others. And if you think just because I advocate for a block, that is pushing for some kind of control yes you are correct I like millions of other people do what they can to control what's going on within their space. And GD if you thought about it why would I advocate and fight so hard for a block when I would be the most block member on coin talk. And you'd have to award me points for that. And GD. When is it considered controlling when I say I disagree and have a different opinion about it. Just because I present opinions ideas for change that makes me controlling. And I admit I have known to use the word that's a fact Jack. I guess you can take that in a controlling manner. But I look at it just as a statement it's a fact. GD I wish what you stated so eloquently stated in your opening was true. And I've heard you use that statement several times since I've been on coin talk. And one day I hope to see that statement come true on coin talk. But this is only an opinion my opinion and please do not take it like I'm trying to force you in any way or manner to accept my opinion. Coin talk is not to your gold GD as of this day.And maybe one day on coin talk I'll be able to express an opinion and ideas. Without being told to pack my bags and move on. As you have personally done GD.All because I express my opinion which you tell me I am allowed to do.Now GD if what you say is true, in your opening statement. I have expressed my opinions, can we move on to the next thread. It should be that simple should it not.USMC60
Meaning no offense, it seems like that in a lot of your posts you are doing this. I enjoy your posts, I just sometimes feel frustrated for you when you are trying to get people to come around to your opinion when they really don't share it.
Let me start off by saying one thing that happens on coin talk all the time members have a tendency to judge and to take out of context a lot of things. I am easy to understand. Yes I'm guilty for being over aggressive in defending my opinions and beliefs. Guilty as charged. It seems members take this in a different way. There's not too much I can do about that. I will set the record straight. I do not seek recognition from others. I do not do what I do to please others. I do not judge others on their beliefs or disbelief's. It is not my place to tell anyone that they are wrong.Or what they should believe in. Each individual is that an individual capable of making his or her own decision.Basically if I want your opinion I'll ask for it. And I reserve the right to agree with it or not to agree with it. Just like you have that same right. But unlike other members if you disagree with me I don't hold it against you.Bottom line my inner peace and well-being does not rely on the opinions of others.USMC60
Boy, you don't know how much fun it is reading this thread knowing that I have placed "you-know-who" on "Ignore". Chris
Let's talk about the Mint's choice for the 2017 Gold $100 Liberty coin. I just saw what it's going to look like and I was surprised with the lack of wording on the Obverse side. I haven't seen the reverse, but I guess it has the wording required by law and it appears they are going with edge lettering. It also seems that the Mint is claiming the Gold Mercury dime and Gold LSQ are burnished, PCGS is grading the SP.
@THE BIGDOG @usmc60 There are a large number of members here who know more about coins than both of you combined ever will; yet they choose to suffer barbs to educate others (besides you) here that matter and wish to learn. Arguing with ignorant fools is folly. You are free to toss opinions out just as the rest of us. When your opinion is uninformed, you'll hear about it.
If you click on the magnifying glass, it show the reverse http://www.coinworld.com/voices/bill-gibbs/2016/03/a_bold_recommendatio.html
Considering the Mint originally listed the coin as a "Native American Coin", I really don't think she was meant to represent Liberty. on the other hand you may be writing "tough in Cheek".
