I wonder when the fire altars went into disuse as an object of adoration in temples. That altar of the Bukhar Hudat doesn't look if real fire altars was still in use. Was Islam the state religion by that time already?

i was kind of curious about that also. but didn't they go even further than the fire altar and but the head of a god in the "flamses"? i don't remember who it is, @Ancientnoob told me once....or probably you know actually. would you remind me? maybe islam was official but fairly tolerant of the large population of another religion?
