  1. Hi all

wanted to pick your brains on the grade of this?

I wanted to say AUNC but likely XF/VF. It has about 2 or 3 minor scratches and the highest points of the coin show no wear, just a bit of grime.

Also a bit of copper oxide (?) showing...

High mintage year and mint location unfortunately.

For what it's worth, I'd call it XF. That spot and the smaller one on the rim are rather unfortunate though.

IMO it would just squeeze by with EF.

The silver purity in these Weimar coins is pretty low, so it is common to see "yellow" or "brown" coins in the high circulated grades.

  6. Interesting... I've got some 500. Silver British coins and they haven't discoloured like this one.

Honestly it is quite mucky which is part of the reason i picked it up - definitely uncleaned!

Any thoughts on the grade of this?
