    Nope, I didn't. I promise you.
Just for fun, here's some old photos of some good hauls. My phone camera wasn't so good back then.

Did you buy the Morgans, the 2 Peace dollars, and the Barber half from the bank? That'd be awesome if you could get Morgans at their face value.

Yes, those were in a customer wrapped roll of Ike dollars. And the Barber was in a customer wrapped roll of halves. All face value. My best day yet.

All the other pics are from weekly boxes.

I wish my banks had rolls besides the common denominations, had to stop completely from not getting enough and they always refused to order.

I’ve found 515 proof coins in circulation, from Ike’s to cents. I sent in a nickel for grading and got a PF70 DCAM just to see if I could. But I’ve looked through a lot of coins.

Many years ago, I had to work in Vegas about 4 times each year. Each trip I would play the half dollar slots just for fun. I was always finding proofs but they were pretty beat up.

Many proofs go into circulation because dealers and collectors open proof sets and pick out the best coins to have graded or for albums. The rest of the coins are not worth much and are hard to sell for much over face value. They just get rolled and cashed in. I bought a lot of Nickel proofs from the 50s and 60s from a dealer for 15 or 20 cents each. The dealer was happy to make a few dollars on them.

I never busted up proof sets but did a lot of UNC mint sets. I did well sending in the half and dollar coins in for grading. MS 65 or better were bringing strong prices from collectors.

I've broken up a mint set as well. I am currently working on a quarter book and a dime book, so I took my 1968 mint set and put those 2 coins in the books. Many of them are circulated, but I do have a 1972-D gem in the quarter slot. I haven't broken up a proof set, but it is nice to get proof quarters in Littleton packaging for 34 cents. (In that deal, there was a W quarter as well!)

Those mint sets, if in lower MS grades, are worth putting in a roll and nothing more. Many that are out of their packaging are sadly circulated, and what once was an uncirculated coin could now be an impaired coin.

But 515? That's amazing! You sound like someone who would go through a box of dimes and find proofs instead of nothing, like I did. The proof I found was a Saratoga quarter in a federal reserve roll. I mean, just how can you find that many coins unless you've looked through thousands?

I’ve looked though about 3.5 million coins. Found a Ben Franklin half this morning.
