Hey there, question in title. Been finding a few 2015 and newer half dollars while I CRH, always in excellent condition (which makes sense considering they were sold and not issued from the mint). Is there any value in saving them then selling by the roll for $15 or so? Or is it something that’s neat to have/see but otherwise not worth picking out? Thanks in advance all!
You as well! Have been on quite the hiatus from the hobby for a while now, slowly getting back into it how’ve you been, buddy?
Good, good my fine fellow. I see you've grown a bit since our last meeting. Grown to be a fine young man.
That’s great to hear! And thank you very much man, a lot has changed over the past 8 or so years haha
Looks like they aren't too rare but do sell over face value. Don't forget to account for any selling fees (eBay, paypal, shipping, etc). If there is a profit to be made, it does not hurt to try (if you have the time). Worst case scenario, nothing sells and you just spend them/deposit them back to the bank.
It's worth knowing that halves have been produced for circulation again since 2021. But there isn't a huge premium even for the non-circulating dates.
10 years ago, I tried to save MS halves that are NIFC and sell on ebay. I could not make enough profit to offset the fees and shipping. So I stopped keeping them.
We tip the pizza driver with them, now. Still got tons and tons of them. Fell for that NFIC craze long ago. They're in awesome shape, don't get me wrong. We might still hold back a roll of each, don't know why, though.
