This coin sure looks like the fake 1793's that a seller on eBay from the Ukraine keep listing a few years back. I kept reporting him and he finally quit listing them. Very crude example indeed.

 

Michael, you images of the genuine are worthless because you pictured a completely different variety. Back then every die was made by hand and they were all different from each other. If you post a comparison picture for authentication you HAVE to use the same variety or you are comparing apples and orange.

This is an image of a genuine S-8, note the position of the two berries below the E in cent compared to the OP coin.

Whenever I see a 5 figure coin in a 2 x 2 I just can't imagine it being real.

Beyond the diagnostics, the relief is way too low to be genuine. Sorry kholli, I hope you didn't get taken on this.

 

I would also point out that the rims are perfectly even, it was clearlystruck in a collar.

 

100% fake, bow ribbon ends do not match placement to s8. Not even close.

 

This was a very bad fake from a seller on Ebay just a few weeks ago.
