Swan A millon dollars short of being a millionaire

I'm guessing it's plated. Weighs 5.74g. I tried searching for foreign planchets that may have been in the Denver mint in 2003 but couldn't find anything. It is non magnetic.

What do you think? Plated or is there any other possible explanations?

    Looks plated.

Rotate the rim and see if there are any nicks or dings - if they show copper, that's your answer. If there are deep ones where there should be copper and they don't show it, that's also the answer - it was plated after the ding.

I examined the coin with my 7x loupe. I could not see any copper showing on the rim or edge. No deep nicks or digs. I looked for flaking and did not see any.

I also think it looks plated. It seems to be highly reflective.

It does have a pretty reflective sheen.

I had it under a light when I took the pictures, so that's likely what you're seeing. The darker area you see is where the camera was. The finish on the coin is uniform.

I just found the exact same coin on page 4. Looks like a lot of these were plated.
Thank you everyone for your input. Guess I'll put it with the other novelty coins I found.

Get a third opinion Xrf that will tell you the truth of what the coins made out of go to any high and mom pop jewelry store they'll do it for free coin shops charge money or they might do it for free if you know somebody but definitely get an XRF analysis of the coin

They plated these by the millions to hawk on late night TV. Some plated in Gold. They are neat as a novelty, but no need to waste your time getting an XRF as said above.
