    Hey all,

I just acquired two rare 1/4oz silver bullion coins: 1997 50 Pence Britannia proof, and 2004 Canada $3 Silver Maple Leaf with the RCM privy mark. I wanted to mention these because I think modern, fractional silver coins are under-collected in singular form (not bought in proof sets.)

I can't wait to get more 1/4oz silver Mexican Libertad proofs as well.

Here's a couple pics from my scanner, enjoy :)

Very nice. I like both of them. I added some 1 ounce Libertads to my collection not too long ago. Working on adding some more Brittanias. I think I'll try some of the Maple Leafs as well.

    Thanks guys!

Hey Pirata, I think Britannias are the premier silver bullion coin. I like the low mintages (100,000/year) and alternating designs. Sometimes I can get them for $18-22/ea. on eBay, including shipping. On most websites & in coin shops they seem to sell for $25-35. But if you can find one for $20, jump on it! That's only $4-5 more than the price of a (boring) new Silver Eagle.

The 2003 Britannia has probably the most beautiful obverse on a modern coin that I've seen. If I wanted a core silver investment of say 50 ounces, I'd be lucky to have them all in '03 Brits.
