Fascinating! I love Napoleonic history! I visited the Waterloo battlefield in Belgium with my parents when I was a kid.

Interesting and beautiful array of eagles!

When one thinks of Flavian eagles, Domitian doesn't readily spring to mind.

I know it's probably not what anyone is looking to see, but I just can't keep myself from showing this drachm of Sinope whenever there's a call for coins with eagles. Is it the head of an eagle, or a spiny sea slug? :D

I have a couple more, one of Divus Constantius 27mm, 5.92gm, 307-308 AD, eagle standing on domed hexastyle temple (actually light brown with good detail, better than dealer photo) 007487_l.jpg And Divus Maximianus, eagle standing right/domed hexastyle temple with door ajar (most probably the temple of Romulus that still stands in the Roman forum) minted Ostia under Maxentius 309-312 AD RIC 26. 7b2ZTQ9km5BqNJa8W6yw4tcSD3LpeK.jpg

    That's a mighty sweet OP-Eagle, Deacon (congrats)

Maybe later today I'll try to scrounge-up a few of my eagle coins (but it's almost time to go to work) ... *sigh*

One of these really needs to be higher up on my want list (and now they are!). Standing in front of the Temple of Romulus looking at those beautiful green bronze doors, apparently the original ones from the 4th century, was an amazing experience.

Yes I grabbed that one from a dealer as they don't seem to come on auctions that often.
