I was many times outbid on these shield coins , finally got me one on a dutch site from a German seller. This time not much competition from other bidders :)

I have a Tetradrachm with a Macedonian shield on it too, but the shield didn't help the guy from getting speared to death.:punch:

    Fantastic examples @MikeCollectsCoins and @arnoldoe !!

I have two examples; an RR denarius of Metellus with the tiny elephant (127 BC) and the shield and the prow tetrobol (Time of Philip V and Perseus, circa 187-179 BC):

Your tetradrachm is a type that still eludes me(I'll catch one one of these days!). A couple of my favorites from just before this tetradrachm was minted:
    SNGCop1320GaiusPublilius.JPG
    RomaeAeternaepic.jpg

Both of these types were minted in Macedon under Roman control. The top one under the Gaius Publilius, the bottom under his successor Lucius Fulcinnius, both of whom served as quaestors(treasurer-type officials) under the consul Lucius Aemilius Paullus(later called Lucius Aemilius Paullus Macedonicus) during the Third Macedonian War and both types were minted circa 168-167 B.C. while the Romans were still trying to figure out exactly what to do with Macedon.
