i was looking for an interesting world coin set to collect and was pointed to the coins of the Khorezm People's Soviet Republic. there are only 8 coin types minted between 1920 to 1924. here are the catalogue numbers: Y#15.1 - 2 dates Y#15.2 - 2 dates Y#16.1 - 1 date Y#16.2 - 1 date Y#17 - 1 date Y#18 - 1 date Y#19.1 - 1 date Y#19.2 - 2 dates it took my dad 22 years to complete the set, so i'm looking at this as a long term project. i had been looking at the coins of Bohemia & Moravia, but being zinc, even in BU, they will not be as exciting as hand hammered copper, bronze, or brass. page 1942 in the 34th edition of the 1901-2000 Krause. -steve
Steve have you thought of Slovakia for the WWII period? They had quite a range of metals used for coinage :thumb: that is my next project Would love to see pics of your Dad's collection, I honestly dont think I have ever seen a coin from the Khorezm PSS
