I could find myself that this coin represents Seleucid Emperor Alexander II Zebinas. He was accused of stealing the gold statue of Nike inside the famous temple of Zeus ( one of the seven Wonders). He melted the gold to issue coins. What a story!.. This silver Tet was struck in Damascus, having enthroned Zeus on reverse who is holding a lotus-tipped sceptre. Wildwinds lists the coin under CSE 846, and Newell LSM 85 or even SNG Israel (Spaer --). There's a date in exergue SE = 190 that would be 123 BC in our system. My coin differs by the date in exergue having the letter H. Besides it weighs only 15.11 g. instead of 16.6 g. which is listed on Wildwinds. It's the first time in my efforts to collect coins that I encounter such important Greek Tets almost a month ago. Please try to post your opinions. Thanks..
I think you did quite well!! Who doesn't love an attractive Greek TET!! Especially one well-centered with clear details!
