i found this nickel wayyyyy back in like 2005 or something.
Is this a misshapen planet or pmd? (90%sure it's going to be pmd but just want to make sure :) )

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

Think about the shape of the dies.
All three of them are always perfectly circular.

....and what about the upset rim on the two adjacent straight edges?

I saw a set. That was upset on three sides Each coin, There was two that I couldn't find. All though. I never looked at it in hand. I think you could have one the weighed. But end or beginning of roll?

Hotwheels does it have a rim on the flat sides? To have a flat side on one side of the coin and not the other is odd. Put some more pics up. The reverse also. Maybe post a couple pics with the coin rotated. Hotwheels why do you think its pmd?

You know I just realized I left this at my parent's house D:

I don't really remember if there was a rim on the flat sides. I don't think so, but my picture isn't good enough to tell.

PMD? Mainly because 90% of the error coin posts here end up being PMD, so I wasn't being too hopeful haha

Well if the planchet was upset all the way around then the die hit the flat areas, that would have eliminated the rim on both sides(obv./rev.). I don't think it was clipped either. When you get it back maybe take a look at it again for the lack of rim.

I hear ya on the PMD. Sometimes we may be a little quick on a response. Not having a coin in hand is a disadvantage too.
