You know.... My whole life I have picked change up out of parking lots and such. Just always been my habit. I think that in the future, I'll start disposing of it rather than putting it back into circulation to avoid just this sort of thing. It's just gotten so out of hand.

I am so sick of seeing those on eBay. Who gives these people the idea that their junk is worth anything more than face value? There are also so many "No Mint Mark" coins on eBay that I have come to despise the term. Even legitimate errors rarely hit triple digit numbers. Talking sense into those people is a fool's errand as you will not get anywhere. I have tried.

The "BEAUTIFUL 1972-D ERROR CENT" looks like an actual error, a very common greaser. I'd gladly sell any of mine for a tenth the asking price, however, and still feel guilty. Do you suppose there are people anywhere in the world who are actually taken in by this stuff, or is it merely a means of money laundering?

    Maybe. That would be foul.

I follow these listings. They can go on for months and never end. So I'm not to sure about money laundering but you never know.

Maybe we could stop some of this if we all send a message to “Contact seller” and tell what they really have! I send 3 or 4 messages a day. You’ll be surprised at some of the replies you get back.

No, no, they mean the coin has been through a grater. And a lake.

@paddyman98 As you and I both know, on that other site we are both on, Error Variety News Education Center, it seems every piece of road rash possible is being questioned as an error. And then the typical...what is this worth and... should I have this slabbed? I blame a great deal of this ignorance on click bait You Tube videos. Just like here, I don't mind helping people over there on questionable items, but it just keeps coming like a hurricane. And the rules over there prohibit such trash being posted. Ya just can't win I guess.

This trash is so reprehensible and illegal on so many levels. False advertising, misleading, postal fraud and probably a whole lot more I can't think of. I do believe in some sort of Karma though it might take awhile.

They are hoping ignorant victims out there won't know what PMD stands for. "True PMD..." sounds like it gives a cachet of value while, if questioned about it later, it gives them the out of saying, "I described it accurately and delivered exactly what you bought." It reminds me of the commercials I used to see on TV selling "Genuine faux pearls" or "genuine faux diamonds." They counted on being able to take advantage of the ignorance of those who did not know "faux" means "fake." P. T. Barnum is quoted as having said, "There's a sucker born every minute." That may or may not be so, but apparently there are dozens of reptilian scammers hatched each minute. (No intended insult to reptiles. :) )
