Looks way too clean. Does it have any bars or lettering around the edge?? I cant tell for sure but it looks like some of the leafs in the wreath by the C and T of cent are missing.
For once I didn't wish to "bust chops." THERE HAVE BEEN NO DECEPTIVE FAKES MADE BY CASTING (by any method) IN DECADES that would fool a TPGS.
How much did you pay for it, what's the story behind it's acquisition? You have to understand, these are not the type of coins you just run into randomly and can purchase from some average Joe for penny's on the dollar. So unless you paid north of $10k for it, it doesn't have a chance at being real.
Of the known varieties, it looks closest to S-8 (the only one with this arrangement of berries above the leaf closest to TES on the reverse). Far clearer pictures would be required for me to conclusively establish the differences, but I think I already see everything I need to just in the shape of the bow to consider it a counterfeit.
What? This post is as stupid as looking for a casting seam on that coin! Deceptive fakes are not cast. I allowed for ignorance in my post as crude casts (which are not deceptive at all to professionals) DO FOOL plenty of collectors. BTW, your statement above would have been hilarious (and gotten a "like" from me) if you had ended it with a smile so I'd know you were not being serious.
I do not have it yet. It will be brought to me by a friend in a few days. Thanks for the info I want to learn what I can before it gets here.
I am in agreement, the only possible combination is S-8, and I see enough differences in the serifs and the bottom of the bow to think it's not real, but clear pictures would help.
