Interesting item found in a bulk bag of assorted tokens. It appears that there is a shell over the reverse. And it conforms very well. The obverse most of the rim is very tight to edge. Haven't worked at really seeing about the edge. It isn't a magic trick, that I have seen or heard about. I can't come up with a reason for a zinc shell on a 1963 penny. Any members have any clue?
I can clearly see what looks like an added bezel around the rim; I wonder if it was intended as a necklace and the coating on the reverse is a material more compatible with skin contact? It's possible what I'm looking at is the machining of the actual coin to have been in a bezel, as well.
It appears that it it is a shell and the rim is rolled around the penny body, line is only on the obverese. there is nothing to indicate any attachment point on the coin. As i said it is no magic trick coin I have ever seen or read about. Removing the seated Lincoln from between the pillars makes no sense for a trick you would need two coins one with out and one with Lincoln.
