Ha, just a teaser, but is anyone interested in doing this again this year? I've had the privilege of hosting it for the last few years, and would gladly do it again if we have enough participation to make it fun. Should we do it?
click edit post then click add more options and then you should be able to create a poll if I'm not mistaken.
Oh I don't know, let me think abou... Yup, I'm in!!! Last year was my first year, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Sorry to interrupt guys you seem to be the only ones online...I found a wheat penny with a over print of a liberty dime...any suggestions?????
I am in. I would like to be paired up with someone that collects world coins/ both ways.... them and me.
I don't know the specifics of how he'll do it here, but generally: Everybody who wishes to participate makes their desire known in the thread and provides Kirkuleez with their mailing address. If you have a preference - as spirityoda mentioned - you state it then. Kirkuleez then matches people up with any preferences in mind - some places "pair" folks to exchange, others just match senders and recipients randomly - and you get the name and address of someone to send your gift to via email. Nobody knows who sent them their gift in advance, and even then only from the return address on the package. Revealing that information is optional on the giver's part, down the road. A limit for value is set beforehand, so as to keep things affordable and realistic. A date by which all gifts must be mailed is defined beforehand as well. It is appropriate for the giver to cyberstalk their recipient for hints as to what that person likes. You choose a numismatic gift for your recipient, send it, and then there's a huge thread where everyone brags about what they got. And Kirkuleez does a ton of logistical legwork just out of the goodness of his heart. If you ever join a new forum, you can immediately assume the person who hosts the Secret Santa is among the more giving members of the place.
I am totally down! Loved doing it last year and I think it's just a great way for everyone to do something nice Thanks again Kirk!
