Cool find but from a run of almost 2M notes. If it was uncirculated, I’d keep it. Otherwise, in its condition it will probably never be worth more than face value.
How does one get a note more uncirculated than that? Stand next to the press? That scar on Jackson's face is the reason it has a star.
Issues that do not pass go, collect $200, always got the star to not go into circulation. I'm not sure how they got restamped, but that's what I understand about the printing process. I could be wrong. I'll let the currency experts chime in on this. Reminds me of the Dag Hammarskjöld stamp error. My grandfather was a postmaster at one time, and gave me an entire sheet of them. The government realized they had screwed up, so they printed thousands of them to devalue their own error. Only the .Gov could be so nefarious.
