    Hello everyone,

Well yesterday I did a 7 hour Metal Detecting hunt at a brand new location for me. Bronx River Park. When I got home my wife asked me why my eyes were red? I told her it was allergies. In reality, I cried on my way back home.

It was a bad hunt. I was so excited to go detecting on my day off and I didn't acquire any of what I really love.. silver :nailbiting:

    These were all my finds.
    $4.32 in coins
    2 Bullets
    Junk jewelry

This is a item that is a craft piece. A copper tube with wire wrapped around it and a figure of a woman holding a staff.

    6 Wheat Cents
    5 - 1950's and a 1913

I will not be returning to that location

I have only detected 5 Silver coins for 2024.
    4 Silver War Nickels
    1 Silver Washington 25C

Oh, come on man; get a real disappointment. I've been getting skunked on the lotto for 30 years. :troll:

Yeah, I've been skunked on both lotteries and metal detecting for longer than that. And for the same reason, come to think of it. ("You can't win if you don't play...")

@paddyman98 the metal figuring on that copper piece isn't silver? Seems like the sort of work that would have been done in sterling...

I get skunked every time. I am at the point that I ONLY metal detect to get outside and some time to think because I expect to find nothing of value. In the past two weeks I found one clad quarter, two clad dimes, seven decrepit zinc cents, and a whole load of trash. The quarter is as good as it ever gets for me. Based on my experience, you've done pretty good this year!

I think it could be. I haven't check yet. I have a gold and silver tester. I will check later. Interesting.

"Don't worry be happy." 5 pieces of silver in '24 is five more then you had in '23...Do not become a Hunt brother, you cannot corner the market on silver because will not give mine up! Better luck next time around the park.

I feel your pain, I have a new detector, the ground is frozen, and my Spring work schedule looks absolutely ridiculous! I don't see a lot of detecting time in my near future.
