The price was very right so I'm a very happy camper been after this dime for a long time (have the half dime already lol) so will be off to NGC shortly after she arrives a little rougher then I may have liked but with g6's selling for 150+ I'm very happy with this one.
Well.. I paid under 75 and from the pics calling it about f12 figure cost of sending it to ngc as about 75 (more with pics and other options but just basic for this example) So call it 150 cost after grading.... G8 i break even.. add that i have yet to see anything nicer already slabbed under 200, I think it very worth sending in... as you may notice it's not a high population coin in any condition (it is a key date) and as mentioned the cheapest already slabbed i've seen was a g6 going for over 150. so even if it details I'm happy with the total cost as it's a nicer example then I expected to be able to get without spending major cred...
Okay, as long as you're happy with the purchase and the woman doesn't mind which I'm sure she won't do.
My favorite coin design of all time. still don't know why they had to go and change the original Seated style. James
The No Stars Dime was the last type that I needed when I completed my type set for the first time in the mid 1990s. I had given up, at that point, on ever getting a 1796-7 half dollar type coin. They have sold for 5 and 6 figures for almost as long as I can remember. Yes, it's a tough coin. Someone claimed that there was a hoard of them in Mint State, but it must have been broken up long before I started looking for one. I ended up with one that eventually made it into an AU-58 holder.
