Mint error penny

    image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg I have a penny about the size of a dime with about a 3 mm edge. Appears to be stamped multiple times. Looks like the date is 1971 and you can't read all the writing on the coin has anybody seen something like this ?

    It looks like it has been "spooned"......PMD!

    Next time, try not to put the coin on a reflective surface like that plastic(?) lid, and be sure to place your light source at a 45 degree angle so the light doesn't reflect back into the lens.

    Also, it might help if you focused on the subject rather than the background.

    spooned/ hit with a small hammer on the edge to possible start making a ring.

    spent some time in a commercial dryer. spooning wouldn't blur the images on the obverse and reverse

    Any chance the cent could have been places inside a rim? Also, what commercial dryers or other coin machines (besides coin sorting machines) take cent coins today?
