My buddy just sent me another HUGE batch of coins, some crazy toners and full reds. This is the start of the February coins, ENJOY!
Quite a variety in this first package, this one has some light red ring toning - hard to photo. He mentioned a lot of the rolls he just bought were coins rolled from mint sets. This is probably one of those.
New photos. This coin is looking a little more brown that it used to. But it is also developing some color as well. Full resolution images
My Dad saved this one for me. He found it yesterday at Walmart under some bananas in the produce area. No joke.
Getting back to work on a new lot. Found this one amazing!! Not too often you find these ultra moderns with nice, attractive toning. My friend was able to purchase rolls of ultra moderns that were cut from mint sets by a dealer. The story is the dealer didn't care about cents and was searching for other denomination gems so he just rolled these to sell - my bud bought ALL of his rolls! SCORE! (for both of us)
No flattening of the hair, common on 2000's. The fields remind me of a reverse proof, especially the obverse!
This is my "old" 2000D, it's pretty darn nice too - I will keep both! This one came from an OBW roll, you can sure tell the difference from the mint set coin above.
I’m inspired to share… We’re getting close to 1/4 century on these coins, so they aren’t all that new any more.
