What's the going rate for a roll of Morgan Dollars graded G-F?

Depends. Is it arranged to show an 1889 date on one end and a CC mintmark on the other, and listed on eBay?

    No. No CC's.

I'm not understanding this. Are you looking to buy one of these, and that's the seller's representations, or are you looking to sell one, and those are your grades? If former, I'd want to see the coins. Hell, there are only 20. If latter, I'd think you ought to show them. If they're just offering rolls, forget it. I don't buy wrappers, I buy coins.

Multiply .7734 times the current price of silver. Multiply that number by 20 Morgan’s in a roll and you the junk value of the roll.

It's not that complicated. They're my coins and was just trying to get a ballpark figure on what I could get for them.

    G-F? A dealer may offer $26.

I would pay $400.00 a roll sight unseen. If it was over $450.00, I would have to see the coins….. But that’s just me.

Morgans trade a good bit above silver spot, though, don't they? Even heavily worn ones?

Well then at least disclose the dates and your grades, that's not complicated. Or figure the FMV like that.

I am more than a little shocked at the prices I see wrapped rolls sell for on eBay. Nobody would sell an original bank roll of Morgan's unless they new what was inside.
I got a little off subject here but I would think a role like that would be worth five to six hundred dollars.

I haven't been following the market, but that would've been my guess. I'd expect to get around 500 if I were selling it to my coin show guy, maybe as low as 450 or as high as 550 depending on specifics.

Here are some recent real world prices (sold, raw). You're very likely to make a much better profit selling them individually. I don't recommend eBay but they are the real world.

Please make sure to check your dates and mint marks. Even in that grade, some Morgan dollars are worth hundreds or even thousands.

Hi Fast Eddie. I have a couple Morgan silver dollars. One is a 1882 and one is a 1889. Both minted in Philly. The 1889 coin does NOT have a reeded edge. And there seems to be finning (I apologize for my ignorance, I don’t know much coin collector jargon) around the perimeter. Have you ever heard of this or seen one? If you’d like, I can send pics. I was told by a local “collector” that it could be an error coin or the reeded edge could’ve been filed off. Considering the smoothness of the edge of this coin I don’t think it was filed off.

Hello Doug, you should have started a new thread with your question and you could have attached pics to your original post. What you are describing leads me to believe that someone began “spooning” the coins.
