Speaking of karma, @Miketexas just had his collection stolen, so in light of the good turn h8_modern did me here, I'm gonna "pay it forward" and send Miketexas a "care package" with some modest but fun goodies, to cheer him up. If any of you are feeling flush in the karma department and feel like doing something similar, go for it.

I know that sickening feeling of having coins stolen all too well.

Fortunately there were people around who restored my faith in humanity. And I don't necessarily mean by material means, though I've been the recipient of a lot of that kind of generosity, too.

(For example, lots of Collectors Universe members chipped in to subsidize about half of my 2013 metal detecting trip to England, just to see me do it and read my reports of the trip. It fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams. I never once asked any of them to do that, but when the money was collected, they insisted I go. So I've got a lot of "paying forward" to do.)

What comes around goes around. Small acts of kindness beget other small acts of kindness.

PS- I ain't sending Miketexas any of this pound of bacon i just got, though. My spirit of generosity only goes so far.
