Not my emails. Thanks for posting, though -- for some reason, I can't get eBay messages (other than those directly related to an auction) to show up in my mailbox, and I don't always remember to check my eBay Messages page daily. Maybe one day they'll start dealing me in on these again...
Just be aware I don't think you will be able to use ebay bucks on coins this next go around. Hope I am wrong though.
If they change it the day before they issue the certificate, they will be getting a call from me. That would be deception to lure you into spending money and then changing the deal afterwards. They need to draw the line at what is considered cash equivalent. I can see buying coins or currency at face value being against their policy. Bullion is pushing the line. But collectable coins and currency where someone is paying well above face value is no different than someone buying any other collectable found on eBay. eBay really needs to get flooded with complaints about the recent change on gift card redemption and complaints about the possible changes eBay Bucks. I really can't see them offering eBay bucks on the purchase end of something and then changing the rules when they go to issue the eBay Bucks certificate.
All I know is I had a $50 off purchase coupon, that said it excluded bullion and gift cards. It would not let me use on any coins however. I called to ask about it (and complain), and they were very unhelpful, basically saying that's what they were moving towards.
You can still earn the bucks when buying coins... I am thinking you can not SPEND those earned bucks on coins. We will find out in less than a month I guess.
I was not able to find any upcoming changes to the ebay bucks redeeming policy that would restrict the use of earned bucks on coin or bullion items.
I agree. But like I said, my $50 coupon said only excluded bullion, but it in fact excluded all coins. Did not match the stated rule, but they didn't care.
It was a promotional coupon I got on an account I only buy with. It would give you a coupon worth half of the value of something you sell, up to $50. I sold a $100 item, so got a $50 coupon. Pretty good deal!
I have it, and have nothing on my short list to buy!!! And I just bought a medal last week for my coin show exhibition at LIST PRICE! AAARRRG!!
I just bought a $350 coin (buy it now) with an account that did not have the coupon, and did not know another of my accounts DID have the coupon
It might have just been limitations on that one coupon then. I got a $10 coupon two weeks ago for selling and used in on Perth silver lunars. I also got a random $15 coupon this week that I used on a platinum eagle.
It's a mystery. No one really knows. Some of my accounts get them sometimes, others get them other times, and sometimes none of them get them.
