Personally, for my collection, I'm not opposed to cleaned coins if the price is right and the cleaning/dipping is decent. Toned coins were once hated too, right?
I agree with you. I want some coins with nice detail but can't afford to buy non-detailed coins sometimes. These coins give me the chance to have a great looking coin for fairly cheap. Maybe once I graduate and have a real job I can start affording nicer ones
What does the 7070 albums normally go for? I'm considering getting one, but live in Norway and they are a little hard to get by! Also, saw that the dansco album store was sold out! [emoji31] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah, ok - thanks! Do you also know if there are any other comparable alternatives for us type albums on the market? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My second choice after the Dansco would be the Intercept Shield version, model A-190. It's a terrific piece of work, technically, except for having a Braided Hair Large Cent hole cut too small.
This one was $78. I think it's a 65PL maybe 66PL! Difficult for me to photograph. Definitely prooflike, though, in hand. Off to grading soon.
I'd been looking for one of the silver Great Central Fair CWTs for a while - there are several on eBay right now, including two raw XFish and an ANACS VF30. I snagged this one in the wee hours at Heritage last night... for $47 (including the premium!). Less than half of the cheapest on eBay! This will pair well with my copper, and I'll be on the lookout for the uber-rare gilt. These were struck on a US Mint press at the Great Central Fair in Philly and the copper are actually struck on copper-nickel US once cent blanks. Pretty neat little CWT!
C-B-D strikes again! Those are some great coins. Here is my 'el cheapo' of the day. 1886 IHC, type 2. Paid 22 euros for this coin ($25). I think it is worth a little more?
