You definitely picked the winner of the two. If I were to ever be in the running for an EID MAR (come on lottery!) I would probably be excessively picky. For the NAC example I don't think I could get over the scratch on the reverse. Plus in your example Brutus looks a bit older. The portrait on the NAC example looks very boyish. It is too bad about the side shot. That would be so cool if it was a high enough relief to get the side shot. I am really enjoying them from the other threads.
This coin's history is one hell of a conversation piece to which most people can relate. Thank you very much for sharing.
Not to resurrect an ancient, but awesome thread; but did everyone else notice this insert in HJB's 199th? I hope this young lady appreciates or comes to appreciate the opportunity to hold such a historical piece with her bare hands. What an experience. -Michael
Chapeau for AncientJoe , thanks for sharing your awesome Brutus EID MAR Here are 2 sort of related ones, and a dangerous well made copy / fake one from my black cabinet.
PS- since we're resurrecting oldies-but-goodies, I shall re-share MY EID MAR. It appears to have been overstruck on a rather broad flan of some foreign issue.
