    Chances are, if we knew the process which arrived at this, we'd consider it NT.

    This looks like the toning found on other NT ASEs I've seen in TPG holders.

    Looks like NT as it is concentric both Obverse and Reverse from being in some kind of cardboard holder that was made with a bit of sulphur in the composition. And it don't look like this - LOL!!

    Ouch, I need sunglasses! And I know somebody out there is gonna say - "That is naturally toned" - OK!

    Most defiantly NT :)

    Not enough coverage to add a big premium though but maybe a slight one. Eye appeal is above average for a low coverage thin rim toner. I have an 8oz private mint ase design round with a very similar look

    The obverse looked the same as the reverse? I didn't get to see the obverse. Now he just has two reverse pics. Wonder why he changed his post?

    I voted NT.

    Yup! I purchased a Littleton album with 16 ASEs in it about 4 years ago and just socked it away in my safe...none of the coin had any toning whatsoever...now some of them look like this.

    The obverse is not toned...most of them are only toning on the reverse. Odd.

    I always thought NT takes place over decades, not years. Sure, some toning can develop in a matter of minutes, depending on the stimulus, right? So where do we draw the line? Can NT develop in months? One year? The factors seem to be environment/climate, how it's stored (ie in what type of holder), time, and intention (which would be hard to verify). To me, AT is more apt to take place in the short-term, so I'm always wary of ASEs with rainbow toning. I'm aware that the toning colors and their appearance provide some evidence for making an NT or AT determination. If you put an ASE in a holder with some sulphur in it, as long as you don't heat it, is that NT? What if it's hot where you live? I'm confused, sorry. If a coin is put intentionally in a holder that will tone it, but it takes a few years, and the toning looks NT (ie color not too bright or superficial looking) when done, how can we say this is not artificially toned? These seem like very vague terms

    She's are 999 silver which is highly suseptible to toning. Time has no bearing on AT v NT with them. Plus it's more about eye appeal and market acceptability. Why people are so stick on a timeframe is beyond me

    @Joe

    For how toning goes on ase I've stopped believing anyone can predict it. If you have a roll or two laying around you don't care about much lose it in random places behind furniture ect and you'll be surprised what some do quickly.

    As I've mentioned before I stopped caring at or nt log ago (no toning is nt by definition unless its circulation wear) and just started caring do I like it or not

    I have to wonder how you couldn't see I was just agreeing with him. You're sharper than that. He posted an obvious AT coin, and mocked it. I mocked it too, calling it a scarecrow.

    Good grief.

    NT. Flip 'em over in the album and let 'em cook for another 4 years. :p

    Neither! But I'd say it's market acceptable.
