I got this a few days ago, ungraded. I started to search the web for a guide to attribution, but I soon got swamped with information that was not helpful. Anyone want to give it a shot?
What is the best resource for figuring out Newcomb numbers? I've read about a book by Grellman/Noyes but I can't seem to find it.
I have a similar from 1855. Would it be okay for me to post for an attribution as well? Might be a nice start to an attribution thread. Z
By far the best attribution resource for late dates is Virtual Grellman with the DRN Filter Wizard. You input the positioning of the numbers in the date and it shows the attribution. It costs $100 and is definitely worth the money. Here is a screen shot of what the menu looks like. https://www.largecents.net/VirtualGrellman/virtual_grellman.html If your not ready to drop $100 on a program there is a free book online, it just takes a bit longer per coin.
