Is this an edge error on my $2 1/2 Indian?

Has small raised places that correspond with the reeding on the edge. There were a bunch of the 2016 gold dimes with these, but I have not seen many (if any) other $2 1/2 with it.

I've never seen this on a $2.50 but I think it may have taken a hit. It's a clean looking coin but it does show signs of wear. That mintmark is pretty flat.

Interesting and common. Always considered this was a result of ejection from the die cavity.
