Hello all, Hope everyone is well! I just acquired the attached Mexico 50 Pesos 1914 but I can't find this in the pick catalog. I am attaching also the screenshot of the pick catalog category as a reference for us all to study. The note that I acquired has both violet circular seal and also scalloped treasury seal with an additional signature at the back of the note. There is definitely no such combination of two seals and a signature based on the pick catalog. For the other category in Pick catalog, prices range from US$37.50 (VF-XF) to US$90 plus which is only VF and below condition. Although there is one for bidding at about US$50 for UNC now. I bought this note for about USD22 and the condition is AUNC. Does any of you know the actual market value for this note (I can't find any equivalent one online) at this AUNC condition? Perhaps someone from Mexico or that region is able to provide more insight on this? Many thanks in advance for your help again. Best regards
From Mexican Paper Money 2015 Edition, page 135; your note appears to be: M928; MI-CHI-66.4 "F1914 Back w/violet horizontal scalloped Treasury Seal and control letters"
Hi techwriter, Many thanks for your kind reply! I do not have the book Mexican Paper Money. Does the book show any example image that resembles the back of note as shown in the attached image above? Meaning there is a scalloped seal on the left, circular seal in the center, 4-letter stamp on the right together with a signature on the back of this banknote. I tried to google both M 928 and MI-CHI-66.4. I did manage to find more images on this banknote but information seems very limited. Does the book have any catalog value information for this banknote? If you don't mind, do you think you can share with us the catalog value of this banknote in different condition? Many thanks again for your help! Best regards
Hi techwriter, Many thanks for your help here! Really appreciate it. I am actually a bit confused here with the information given for category MI-CHI-66.4. It says two things about this category: 1) Back w/violet horizontal scalloped Treasury Seal - I assume this is the round smaller stamp on the left with floral pattern around the circle. 2) Control letters - I assume this is the letters U-NTB on the right. What I don't understand is that it says nothing about: 1) The larger circular stamp in the center of the back note above 2) The signature stamp on the right overlapping with the letters "U-NTB" of the back note above Am I missing some information here? It would be great if we can understand exactly how this category description works. Many thanks in advance! Best regards
