I just HAD to share this before going outside to work in the garden...picked up this week at the LCS. Realize its not a high value coin...but it's definitely a new favorite. Enjoy! Feel free to share a new world coin of your own before you head outside (if your weather is as nice as it is here...)
I seriously was just looking at that design in the Krause and thinking I needed to keep an eye out for one. No joke!
Damn, I can relate to you - just came in to make a sandwich and grab a cold beer. This night is even going to be better - I'm in Ohio but perfect blue skies and 70's. Clearing out the garden as most of my tomatoes & eggplants are done for the year!!
Yeah, our cherry tomatoes are down to the last few...which the bugs are going to town on. Had a nice ragweed breakout that's under control. Now that the temp isn't 105 with 100% humidity every day...time to go outside and get something done! (...at least until the coin bug strikes again...)
One of my favorites that I have shared before but am always happy to post again (might be AT, but I don't mind with this inexpensive example).
Let's end this day right. I'm in a great mood after winning a MUCH needed eBay auction...and discovering this little toner in a set is just the icing on the cake. Enjoy! ...and this one.
I really love the Bolivia coinage of this era. Here is my example of the "sun/llama" scene. Forgive the image quality, these are 5+ years old, and I was still trying to figure out coin photography. NGC, MS66RB
Endless summer here, often too hot at mid day to play outside much. No new coins from south of the border lately, however this big old silver item showed up in the mail a couple days ago and I am still admiring it....Had to use the scanner as my camera is still in the shop. George and the Dragon.
Yes, it is pretty warm here too - more than 30° on the Rhine. We had a fairly cool and wet summer in July and August. But the past couple of days, plus today and tomorrow, were and will be great. And while we do not use Fahrenheit degrees here, this image (link) may be appropriate. Christian
At this time of year I'm always seeing flocks of geese fly overhead, and it always makes me think of this coin.
For some undefinable reason, I love those Bolivian coins like the one in the OP. That one looks to have some killer luster, too!
