Well first, you don't do it by asking, you must be captured - errr chosen. And then there are those subtle modifications that must occur :)

You know the kind of mental health screening you need to go through to become a cop? Yeah, you can only be a moderator if you fail that.:D:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

So then I guess I'm not "meaner than the average bear"; some of my "tone" critics are just "more gullible than the average bear".

I never have cared much for "I don't like your tone" people. I don't like their lack of smarts, so we're even. :p

Well, (and and speaking as a new member, who is female, but not "cat fishing"). I thought these threads were bull from the beginning also, and I do applauded the level of patience that was exhibited.

My takeaways were definite trolling but, I don't get a "woman's studies" vibe off them at all. Looks to me like someone (male or female, but I'd bet male) that came to rile every one up and start a fight identifying as female so as to play on a "gentlemanly" instinct to get further in the troll process.

Did I also mention that I have a dime that I'm sure is an error? Yeah, it has to be the wrong metal because it, like, has a reddish color, you know? And, like, it's all grodie and junk, and has, like, a fish scale finish to it, and no, I don't, like, have a scale to weigh it, but I'm SURE it's a error coin.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    O. M. G!

The trend is manifesting itself IN PERSON!!!! Today I worked the lobby and handled competitive exhibit judging at the Red Rose Coin Club fall show (Some fall. Apple Watch says 94 degrees.).

At one point, someone came in with, yes, ANOTHER "error quarter". Young, female, fairly attractive. They came onto the show floor to get me. (They obviously are NOT reading CT, right?) Guess what. Somebody had pretty nicely machined smooth the entire reverse of a state quarter. Smooth as a baby's bum.

Well, over at the ancient forum we have few real ladies. I don't know about you guys here, but ours are real (other members have met them at coin shows), and they are extremely skilled, serious, and talented collectors that give all their male counterparts a run for the money when it comes to knowledge and quality of collection.

I wish we had more female collectors in numismatics. Based on the few that I know, I have no doubt our hobby would benefit tremendously from their passion and knowledge. We could also use the diversity. I'm tired of people seeing numismatists as a bunch of older men. Nothing wrong with that, but we need to show everyone we are welcoming and varied bunch, and that all are welcomed...men, women, young, old, etc.

Geez, Doug! How in the heck are we supposed to know if we're banned or not if we can't see a line through our username?
