The reason photos are needed is that the 1975 dime that was produced by the Philadelphia for normal business use are worth usually just a dime. The 1975 PROOF dime that was issued by the San Francisco mint had a "S" . Philadelphia dimes do not have a 'P'. A couple of PROOF dimes were made missing the "S" in San Francisco, and those are the valuable ones. A photo is needed to see if your dime is a proof or not

If you find it in you're pocket there's a 99.99 percent chance it's not a proof. That's one in a thousand rite? Let's add another 9 to that. Then let's add bout 10 more 9's for the rare die variety

I would disagree in that, with a "mirror" finish, you can see detailed reflections exactly as if looking into a bathroom or hand held mirror.

Agree since, of the 2,845,450 proof sets produced during 1975, only 2 have coughed up No S dimes and these coins were solidly sealed in the Proof Set packaging of the time.

would the odds be: 2 in 2845450 ?

That's ok, thanks. However, that's the same thing they said to the other owner.
The minute you say 1975 no S. Everyone tells you NOT POSSIBLE. And this one does look as if your looking at a mirror. My camera is a camera phone

Your dime is in nice condition for being 40 years old Madeline. But sorry, it's not a proof. Keep searching and good luck to you
