Let me metaphorically take your hand and speak nice and slow. Maybe, just maybe, it means that age and experience are worth something in the long run. D'ya' think maybe that could be it? 'Cuz despite their undeserved self-confidence, many Gen-X'ers are basically morons.

[quote removed] So, are all of your retorts so witty and intellectual, or are "we" just a mean drunk who has gotten a head start on "our" weekly Friday night bender? C'mon, share.

I don't drink, really. But anyway, I was basically agreeing with you, about the snarkiness of the isurance Co slogan. And then you got super condescending. As usual. I love coins, and bullion, and history. I'm very very new to this whole hobby. I come on this site to learn, which I do every time I log on. I'll never have as much knowledge about coins as you, probably few do, that being said, I think you try to bully alot of people on here.

That be as it may, I bet Kurt knows the rules as well as I do, and being politically connected he knows how to skate the line. It does pay to read the rules.

Today's quote (Kim Stanley Robinson, Green Mars):

I don't know squat compared to a goodly number of people on this site, and I am all too aware of that. I am only fairly recently, compared to my chronological age, aware of just how much there is in this field I'll never have the time to learn. What I am keenly in touch with is what aspects of this hobby I do and do not care for. I have a very unusual relationship with, as Jim has indicated, a fairly influential PA politician, with whom I have a rich, if occasionally testy, arrangement. About 20 years ago, I ran against him, unsuccessfully. In the intervening years, I left the private sector and assumed a hired, as opposed to elective, political position. He liked my work so much, this man whom I tried to displace, hired me. He did it not for my gentle diplomatic skills, but my sharpness. We intellectually butt heads regularly, behind closed doors. I get to say when I think he's whacked, and he gets to vote on the floor. It works for us both, for 8 years and 10 days today. We're both better for the experience.

Personally I could care less about them. Although, I can't wait to see the coin man on CSN, I think that's what it's called. Selling them, and acting like they are the greatest coin ever minted. I'm counting down to 2021. When they hopefully release the gold peace dollar. That I will be excited about.

What would be the weight and size of a 2021 Gold Peace Dollar?

Just be happy that some of you can afford this overpriced coin. Good luck trying to resell it for anything over on spot melt value!

    Depends on the chosen weight.

The Peace (and Morgan) dollars are 38.10 millimeters in diameter, Weigh 26.73 grams and are 90% Silver, 10% Copper.

The specific gravity of this alloy is 10.32 g / mm^3

    The specific gravity of .999 gold is 19.32 g / mm^3

Thus the VOLUME of the gold 'peace dollar' would be 53% of the silver coin. The thinner the coin, the larger it could be. The silver dollar has a nominal thickness of 2mm, so the gold dollar would be just over 1mm thick. For comparison, the silver trime (3c) - notorious for bending - were 1.55mm thick.

Or correspondingly, the same volume of gold would mass 187% of the silver or just under 50g (49.96).

At today's prices it would be $2,131.53 worth of gold.

Whatever the price of it, even in 2021 lol. I'm in! I hope it's in high relief too.

Trouble? Nah. Me??? If I wanted to cause trouble, I would have ended my post with "Cue the music and pitch that rice, and have Elaine release those doves!"

Dan, in all seriousness, I do "get it". I realize some people are just kind of predisposed to like almost anything struck in gold. I truly do understand. I have my own quasi-fetishes as well. But for me, modern gold coins start with an 0-2 count and a closer hopped up on adrenaline is delivering the third. They are just not interesting to me.

There's a lot of stunning modern gold out there, it's just that the majority of it is in world coins.

That was an awesome analogy. You are spot on like Greg Maddox.
