That's truly a shame. Targeting the uneducated coin collector / investor that results in someone thinking they have valuable collection saves up for retirement or other purposes and getting pennies on the dollar when it comes time to sell to the local coin dealer.
I saw that on TV the other night. I almost threw my remote at the TV. These people are shameless. Nothing but crooks the whole lot of them.
It is not just coin collectors. Remember the Cabbage Patch Dolls, Collector Plates, Avon bottles, etc.
While that pricing is high, it is a very low mintage medal with a beautiful design. I seriously doubt it will ever be considered bullion
But, umm, I thought that.... Apparently, and contrary to what you claim, you have no problem judging others after all. Funny how that works, isn't it?
Easy. Any time they feel something they just remember "oh that's right, I'm rich"... and back to sippin' the martini
Why must you derail threads to make personal nudges like this You have too much legitimate insight to offer in regards to our hobby to partake in petty flaming
You know where they say flattery will get you... Was just keeping a promise; nothing less or more. It can end here as far as I'm concerned; the whole thing/claim of a certain someone not sitting in judgement, along with the accusations that followed, was both stupid and ridiculous to begin with. That said, I do apologize if I've offended you or Mr. Stevearino.
Good catch, that's actually not that far off the price for the set of 2 especially considering they probably had to pay 150ish for each of them to get it on the aftermarket
That's just preying on people's greed, I don't mind them taking advantage of the younger people who have more money than brains. It's just the little old lady's financial advisors who think this would be a good investment and lose. For god's sake it's just a one ounce silver round, not like it's made of gold.
I considered it bullion months ago when they announced the design. She is wearing a toga. If you like it that's great. Quite a few folks share your same sentiment. Then folks, like the poster above, share my view.
Everyone entitled to their opinion, but I have never known bullion to have a proof finish with such a limited mintage from a government mint.
