    I saw no reason to think that it wasn't real. I agree, it is impossible to tell without it in hand, at this point and it's too bad that we'll never know.

    It was a typical cleaned, circulated Trade Dollar. I would say it is genuine.

    I usually wait until I have the coin in hand before sharing pics and info about it. I recommend you do the same in the future.

    Something looked fishy about that first coin....and I have learned to usually trust my initial gut feeling. If I am leery of a coin at all, the feeling will just not go away and I will likely never like or trust that coin. On the other hand, if it is not too expensive, a fake coin can be a good training aid.

    Looked real to these eye although slightly uninspiring. Seller did you a favor, because of the fear on these you get great type coins off of eBay for junk money if you know what to look for.
