    THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 2nd century BC. AR Drachm (16mm, 4.52 g, 9h). Poly–, magistrate. Helmeted head of Athena right; monogram to left / ΘΕΣ / ΣΑΛΩΝ, horse prancing right; monogram below. BCD Thessaly I 1372; BCD Thessaly II 814-5; HGC 4, 212. VF, toned.

    The facing head bronzes in this thread are spectacular.

    Here's a Thessalian bronze from Atrax:

    AE 21, 5.53g, Thessaly, Atrax, ca. 300-196 B.C. Obv: Apollo facing right. Rev: Rider on horse, ΑΤΡΑ−ΓΙΩΝ.

    I suppose I should add one of my recent wins to this classic Thessaly thread ...

    THESSALY, Thebai, AR Hemidrachm
    Early 3rd century BC
    Diameter: 15 mm
    Weight: 2.52 grams
    Obverse: Veiled head of Demeter right, wearing grain wreath
    Reverse: ΘHBAIΩИ, Protesilaos right, holding shield and sword, and stepping off prow of galley to left
    Reference: BCD Thessaly I 1347 corr. (same dies; retrograde И not mentioned); BCD Thessaly II 758 (same rev. die); HGC 4, 30 (same dies as illustration)
    Other: 12h … toned, some granularity
