Won one today, under estimate which feels like a huge win at CNG. Can't wait to get it in hand. THESSALY, Thessalian League. Mid-late 2nd century BC. AR Drachm (16mm, 4.52 g, 9h). Poly–, magistrate. Helmeted head of Athena right; monogram to left / ΘΕΣ / ΣΑΛΩΝ, horse prancing right; monogram below. BCD Thessaly I 1372; BCD Thessaly II 814-5; HGC 4, 212. VF, toned.
The facing head bronzes in this thread are spectacular. Here's a Thessalian bronze from Atrax: AE 21, 5.53g, Thessaly, Atrax, ca. 300-196 B.C. Obv: Apollo facing right. Rev: Rider on horse, ΑΤΡΑ−ΓΙΩΝ.
