Good Afternoon and Happy Labor Day. Yesterday I added two notes to my 1864 CSA set leaving me 1 note remaining. The $500; I held two examples but I didn't feel the price was right on either so I held out and just picked up a $0.50 and the $1. I hope to finish the set before the end of the year. I am also hoping to display it well as an entire group framed. My favorite is the Jefferson Davis $0.50 being he is a fraternity brother, Kappa Sigma. My second favorite is the $2 which I took out of an AU55 PCGS holder. It's the only note that came from a TPG holder. I picked it up at the ANA show in Dallas for what I felt as a steal. Hope you enjoy. Any opinions are greatly appreciated as well as ideas of how to display.
Awesome set! I thought about getting into these but it just hasn't happened yet. As far as a display, you're going to want something double sided. Look into cigarette cards.
Wow that's nice. I've got a few Confederate paper moneys. Have thought about attempting to collect them all.
I recommend doing a denomination set of your favorite year. I have really enjoyed hunting for them. They look great as a group and each one tells its own story.
Its nice to have more CSA collectors. It is definitely a nice set and I suggest you post them on the CSA thread here: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/post-your-confederate-money-and-southern-scrip.276807/ I believe @MEC2 mounted his, so I would definitely get his advice...
